Choose the best wood for infrared saunas and customize your experience. Our infrared saunas are designed with a modular system that allows you to combine infrared technology, wood types, sizes, and accessories to create a cabin that perfectly fits your needs and desires.
TYPES OF WOOD
Canadian Cedar (Hemlock Cedar Wood)
By default, our sauna cabins are made from white cedar (Hemlock Cedar), a type of conifer native to the western coast of the United States and Canada. This wood has a beautiful uniform texture, a subtle aroma, and a rich color. Its natural resins protect it against insects and fungi. Additionally, it is strong, stable, and does not splinter. Since it comes from mature trees, it is highly resistant to warping and does not have knots or cracks. These qualities make it an excellent material for saunas, especially if you plan to install your cabin in a dry environment.
Red Cedar – The Premium Choice
If you prefer, you can have your sauna built entirely from red cedar, both inside and out (including the non-visible back panel). Red cedar is known for its exceptional durability—it does not compress, warp, or become susceptible to fungi under any conditions. Thanks to its natural components, this wood emits a pleasant fragrance, absorbs very little heat, and has a high infrared reflectance, making it ideal for infrared saunas. Additionally, red cedar requires minimal maintenance. Due to restrictions on red cedar harvesting and high import tariffs, saunas made from this material tend to have a higher price.
Sustainable and High-Quality Cedar Wood
Our sauna cabins are available in Hemlock Cedar or Red Cedar, both of which are sustainable, high-quality, and durable. Cedarwood is the best type of wood for saunas because its natural cedar oil makes it resistant to rot, fungi, and insects. Cedar is commonly used in infrared sauna construction, garden houses, and even large-scale homebuilding in Canada and the United States.
The Benefits of Infrared Saunas
Everyone has their own reasons for using an infrared sauna. Some people with conditions such as rheumatism, osteoarthritis, or muscle and joint pain find great relief from infrared therapy sessions. Others seek to boost their immune system by eliminating toxins. And some simply want a moment of pure relaxation—listening to music or reading a good book—while unwinding in an oasis of tranquility.
